The SKIPPER v Dele ALLI
'Dele Alli may be the name on the lips of Tottenham and England fans after a series of fantastic performances, but statistics form Oulala reveal that Mark Noble, his opponent on Sunday, has had a more successful season.

19-year-old Alli, signed from MK Dons for £5 million in January, has adapted swiftly to life in England’s top flight since joining the Spurs first-team during the summer. He earned call-ups to Roy Hodgson’s two most recent England squads, capping an exceptional run of form with a 25-yard strike against France on Tuesday.

He has earned praise from both his international and club manager’s, with Mauricio Pochettino describing him as “a really good player, very young but very mature” after Alli and Eric Dier commanded a midfield battle against Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin in the North London Derby earlier this month.

However he may face one of his sternest challenges this season in Sunday’s match against West Ham, where he will come up club captain Mark Noble.

In 12 starts this season Noble has average more successful passes per game than the 19-year-old, has forged 11 chances to Alli’s nine and is the only one of the duo to have registered a Premier League assist this season. The West Ham man’s attacking credentials are further enhanced by his pass accuracy statistics, with Noble successfully completing 86 per cent of his passes as compared to the 78 per cent of his opponent on Sunday.

Alli though, does seem to have been a more impressive defensive force so far this season than Noble, though both have found themselves often deployed in deep-lying midfield roles. The Spurs man can point to an impressive 68 per cent of tackles won and 28 interceptions, a tally he has achieved in one fewer game than Noble.

One area in which Noble and Alli are neck and neck is in front of goal, where both have scored two goals – though the youngster hits the target twice as often with a shot accuracy of 67 per cent.

With only goal difference separating West Ham and Tottenham in the Premier League table ahead of Sunday’s game both sides will be hoping their midfield mastermind comes out on top in what is likely to be a tightly contested London derby.'

Looking forward to the skipper bossing things at the Lane once again on Sunday.

I hope the skipper has the balls to go straight through this cunt like he should have done to McCarthy in the last game.

I know which is more likely to be booked, give away free kicks on the edge of his own box and be blowing out of his arse after 65 mins.

Will upset a few this. They know who they are.

I don't care about any of the stats. 1 plays for us and 1 plays for them. I know where my loyalties lie.

They play in different midfield positions. Alli is more advanced. Hence shooting and dribbling more. Noble is deeper.

I probably wouldn't have been far off giving you this conclusion based on what I've seen this season.

I reckon Noble will snuff him out and he'll have a quiet game which the pundits will hate because Alli is now flavour of the week.

I hope Nobes has a stormer on Sunday and Alli has a shocker.

That said, I think even the most blinkered of us would admit that Alli is the better player.

Re: The SKIPPER v Dele ALLI
NOBLE v DIER would be the better comparison

As much as i hate to say it but both DIER and ALLI would walk into my team on current form. Both been an outstanding pairing in recent weeks

I most certainly wouldn't.

I noticed after Everton the normal "knock a Noble" pricks were in hiding.

He absolutely dominated Barkley

Spot on mate, I really dont get the pleasure people get if Noble is below par, he has been tremendous for west ham over the years a consistently good performer. If he doesn't perform or we buy better players then he wont play but at the moment he is captaining the team in a top 6 position and keeping some talent on the bench. Long may it continue.

Re: The SKIPPER v Dele ALLI
I like Noble. But your talking about comparing someone who has been a 1st team prem player for the last 7 years or so, compared to a rookie.

This is probably "peak" Noble. He's not going to get much better. However, if Ali is good now you can understand how they expect him to grow even further than what Noble can achieve.

But if we are talking right now, I'm not sure how the captain of a top 5 side who happens to be English and in the prem, isn't a regular international. I think thats unheard of. Someone at the FA really doesnt like us.

Re: The SKIPPER v Dele ALLI
To be fair, their midfield shits all over ours. You only have to look at the table to see that.
